What to know before choosing SystemBuddy
Straight answers about deployment, licensing, access and what happens next.
How does purchasing work?
Choose a plan and submit the request form. We review the request and email the license or Cloud workspace details after approval.
Is SystemBuddy only self-hosted?
No. You can run it on infrastructure you control, or use a private SystemBuddy Cloud workspace. IT providers run it on their own supported Windows server under a provider license.
What happens when a self-hosted license expires?
Licenses run for one year. Your data remains yours; licensed capabilities re-enable when you renew.
Do you offer trials?
Self-hosted and eligible Cloud plans can request a trial. Every trial is manually reviewed. Provider pilots are arranged privately after contact.
Cloud or self-hosted: which should we choose?
Self-hosted gives you direct control of the server and database. Cloud gives you a private hosted workspace and per-paid-user billing. Infrastructure-facing modules may require self-hosting.
Are ticket-only requester accounts charged in Cloud?
No. Ticket-only requester accounts are free and do not consume paid seats. Their uploads count toward the workspace's shared storage.
How does the IT Provider/MSP option work?
SystemBuddy runs on the provider's own supported Windows server under a custom capacity-based license. It is contact-only and has no self-service trial.
Which integrations are included?
Selected plans include Jira Cloud, ServiceNow, OpenID Connect single sign-on and BambooHR directory synchronization.
How is the platform secured?
SystemBuddy uses scoped authorization, protected administrative workflows, encrypted transport and security-focused deployment defaults. Available controls vary by deployment and plan.
